Weekly Notes from the Head of Upper School, 2/27

Dear Upper School Families,

Student Led Conferences are coming up on Wednesday, March 6th. There will be no classes that day, and families should be receiving communication from their student’s advisor with information on how to sign up. Student Led Conferences are an excellent chance for families to learn about their student’s experiences in the classroom, where they are in their learning processes, and their struggles and successes with specific assignments and projects. All families are encouraged to sign up and meet with their student’s advisor.

CSF Carwash
While you’re meeting with your student’s advisor, consider getting your car washed by the members of our Upper School Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation.  They’ll be in the staff and student parking lot next to the lower school from 8 am - 11 am on Wednesday, March 6th. Donations appreciated.

CSF Spring 2019
Congratulations to our California Scholarship Federation, Palm Valley Chapter, Spring Semester members, and associate members. CSF is a statewide honor society. Students must qualify off of previous semester grades.  You can see a list of members at this link.

Congratulations Leo Milmet!
Sophomore Leo Milmet brings home the 3rd-place trophy from the Palm Springs Desert Branch of the English Speaking Union's Shakespeare Monologue Competition, held this Saturday at Palm Springs High. Leo competed in the morning against other school monologues, then advanced to the evening finals. Before a PVS crowd of supporters, Leo performed his Shylock monologue from The Merchant of Venice, his sonnet, and cold reading.
