Dear Upper School Families,
Over the next two weeks, all Palm Valley School students will be participating in our November Service Learning Project. We will be sending care packages to our men and women serving overseas. Middle and Upper School students are encouraged to bring approved items from the list below. All items will be collected, and packed by our Middle and Upper School students and sent to Support Our Troops, along with drawings and letters being made in the Preschool and Lower School. Support Our Troops is a well-known organization, which knows what troops’ needs and wants are. Additionally, they know how to collect and package items in a way that gets them to where they are needed as quickly and efficiently as possible. To best support their work, we will only be sending the items collected that fall into the following categories:
1) Candy Bars, Snack Bars, Protein Bars
2) Wet Wipes - UNSCENTED
3) 1 GB + USB memory sticks & AA, AAA batteries
4) Disposable Razors, Q-Tips, Cotton balls/pads, Sanitary Napkins and Tampons
6) Beef Jerky
7) Tins and Packets of Flavored Coffee
Any items we collect that do not fit into these categories will be donated to local organizations. Please have students bring items to their advisory classroom by Friday, November 17.
