Weekly Notes from the Head of Upper School, 11/28

Dear Upper School Families,

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving break. Hard to believe we’re just a few short weeks away from the Winter Break. Thank you to everyone who supported our #GivingTuesday efforts on behalf of the #FeedtheFire Annual Fund.

This past Friday, we had our annual Thanksgiving Alumni Reunion, with lunch and our traditional varsity vs. alumni basketball game. It is always gratifying when students come back to visit the campus and connect with their former classmates and teachers.

Upper School Play: The Drowsy Chaperone
This coming weekend is the opening of the Upper School play, The Drowsy Chaperone. We hope you’ll join us for another spectacular production. Purchase your tickets now at pvs.org/tickets! Our Upper School Drama Department’s winter production is a parody of American musical comedies of the 1920s. A middle-aged, asocial musical theatre zealot sits in a chair in his small apartment playing the record of his favorite musical, the 1928 hit...The Drowsy Chaperone. The show comes to life onstage with all its crazy-fun characters singing and dancing in 1920’s style.

Million Deliberate Acts of Kindness
The Riverside County Office of Education started a kindness movement - "Million Deliberate Acts of Kindness" and we'd like to join in on social media. Our students and families participate in many service activities throughout the year and we’d love to share photos using the Riverside County hashtag #KindnessRivCo. If you are a student or parent on a service learning/community field trip, please be sure to take photos while you're there and share them with Courtney Fisher (cfisher@pvs.org). Or tag your own acts with #KindnessRivCo and #PalmValleySchool.
