Dear Upper School Families,
As the quarter comes to a close, many families are paying close attention to their student’s progress and grades for this term. In the Upper School, grades are recorded differently than in the middle school. Only the Semester grade, in January and June, are recorded on the official transcript. Progress reports go out for Quarter 1 and Quarter 3, but those grades are considered progress grades. The Semester grade is comprised of Quarter 1 (40%), Quarter 2 (40%) and the Semester assessment grade (20%). While you will receive a progress report, including grades, teacher comments, and attendance information, that report is confidential, and only provided to students and families. Quarter grades, comments, and attendance information are not recorded on the transcript.
If you have any questions about grades, progress reports, or transcripts, please email or call me. firstname.lastname@example.org
In recognition of Digital Citizenship Week, Upper School students will be participating in advisory lessons which will focus on Digital Citizenship. For the next three weeks, our students will learn about important skills and concepts surrounding critical thinking, online safety, and the responsible use of technology at school and at home.
