Eblast from the Head of Upper School, 1/10

Dear High School Families,

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. As the Interim Head of the Upper School, I look forward to working with you and your children in this new capacity. Please know that I'm here for you and your students and look forward to finishing the year strong.

The High School Poetry Recitation Finals Competition last Wednesday was marvelous. Thank you to all the extraordinary students and teachers who came together to participate and support the finalists - they were terrific! Of the eleven students who made it to the finals, three were chosen as winners. Congratulations go out to Sara HabibipourIsabella Goetschel, and Caroline Scheil. There was also an audience favorite, Caden Tadevic, great job everyone!

We are gearing up for the end of the first semester on January 22, so please make sure to remind your student to check their Mybackpack accounts and emails for any missing work or notifications from teachers as they begin to finalize grades. Semester finals, which account for 20% of the semester grade, will be held the week of January 19-22. I encourage all families to contact teachers if they have any questions about student progress.

Students will be sent a google form next week so that they may make their new elective class choices. This year, because class sizes were limited, we are asking students to make a change and select a different course so that other students can have an opportunity to experience a course in which they were not able to enroll last August.
