Upper School Activities for the month of November!
From Poetry on the Green to the varsity Volleyball boys vs. girls game and Fun Fridays, life in the Upper School has been very busy. Our annual Scarefest sleepover was a big success. Many students stayed up all night talking (sorry parents), playing games, and watching a lot of movies.
For the month of November, JSA has Fall State on Saturday, November 18 and 19. Students are leaving the school at 6:45 a.m. and heading to the Irvine Marriott. They will return from Fall State on Sunday, November 19, at approximately 5:00 p.m. See Ms. Steinman for more information.
Our third Outdoor Club hike will take place Saturday, November 18 at Whitewater Preserve. If you want to go, permission slips need to be turned in by Wednesday, November 15. See Ms. Clark for more information.
Students are always asking how they can earn their 40 Service Learning hours. A way to earn up to four hours of service learning hours on campus this year is through our all-school Support Our Troops drive. Upper School students will be collecting, sorting, and packaging items for care packages. All of these items will be collected and sent to Support Our Troops, for distribution during the holiday season. Check in with Advisory teachers for additional information regarding this November project.
Other ways students can get in their 40 hours this month is through the club, Student United Way.
Tuesday, November 21: Martha's Village and Kitchen 9:30-12:30 - stuffing goody bags - 5 volunteers needed
Wednesday, November 22: Galilee Canter 3-5 pm Thanksgiving baskets - PVS students have filled all the spots already
Friday, November 24: Barnes and Noble 3 hour shifts starting at 10 am to 9 pm - gift wrapping - 8 volunteers needed.
Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
