Weekly Notes from the Head of Lower School, 9/12

Dear Families,

We are in the midst of the first full week of school. Our teachers are spending time through daily morning meetings to build the classroom family. While rules, routines, and policies are important, real learning does not take place unless students feel they are in a safe, nurturing environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes, and be encouraged to try. As I visit the classrooms this week it is evident that these relationships are already beginning to form. I encourage you to ask your student about what they do in morning meetings. Your child's teacher is also available to answer any questions you may have.
