Weekly Notes from the Preschool Director, 5/23

Dear Preschool Families,

Thank you to all our families for coming to Palm Valley School’s Annual Spring Sing this past Thursday! Our students had a blast performing their newest song, Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree and crowd favorite, The World is a Rainbow! I am extremely proud of our students’ progress throughout this school year and feel so fortunate to be a part of that growth.

Today is #PVSDayofGiving18! Last year, on #PVSDayofGiving17, we collected over $15,000 in donations, and this year we hope to surpass that goal! An easy way to donate is through our Facebook page. Click the "Donate" button to contribute or click HERE for details on all the ways to give. All donors will receive a #PVSDayofGiving18 shout out!

Our students have been diving into our new curriculum "Around the World." If you take a look into our classrooms, our Pre-K students are putting together passports, Preschoolers are painting with seashells and making sensory bottles, and our Toddlers are going all out in an under the sea theme!

Flapjacks for Families is coming up this Friday, May 25th from 7:30 am - 9 am outside our MS Building. This day is to celebrate all of our Palm Valley families! Bring your students and enjoy a pancake breakfast to start the day! I hope to see you there!

Yearbook pre-order sales have ended, but you can still purchase this year's Ember at any of our building offices for $65 until Friday, June 1stIf you wait until the yearbooks arrive, your student will not receive their copy on the delivery day and the price will be $70. There is also no guarantee that extra yearbooks will be still available at that point. All of our Preschool and Pre-K classes will be featured in this Yearbook, so I encourage you to preorder them as soon as possible.

There has been a change of plans to our End of the Year party for our Toddlers, Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students. Due to excessive heat in the afternoons and for the safety of our students, we will host our End of the Year party during the last Thursday of the school year June 7th from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. Please bring your students in wearing swimsuits (one-pieces for girls) and water shoes ready to play!

Our very first Pre-Kindergarten Graduation will take place Friday, June 8th at 10:30 AM! Our Pre-K students will walk across the stage and receive a diploma to mark this achievement in their school career. We invite all our Pre-K families to attend this event in the Gym. On Thursday, June 7th please have your Pre-K student arrive before 8:00 AM for a small rehearsal. Reminders will be posted and sent home.

Summer Camp and Summer Session are right around the corner. We have now opened a part-time option for both. For more information or to sign up, click here. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Our 3-week summer camp program will run June 11th - June 29th and an extended Summer Session will be available July 2nd - August 17th (with the exception of the 4th of July holiday).
