Weekly Notes from the Preschool Director, 5/2

Dear Preschool Families,

The week of our Annual Preschool Dance and Art Show is finally here! This Friday, May 4th at 10:30 am we will be performing a show for our friends and families in the Gym. After the show, we invite you to your child’s building to enjoy light refreshments and the reveal of our classroom art displays! Please have your children here on Friday before 9 am to ensure they have a healthy morning snack and time to get dressed for their performance. For our last rehearsal tomorrow, please bring your children to school no later than 8:10 am. Thank you for helping us prepare for this event! Please remember, the Cricket room is not participating in our performance but will be participating in our Art Show afterward.

Last Friday, Mrs. Fisher came down to the Pre-Kindergarten building to read a few of her favorite poems. Our students loved listening to these silly poems and were able to spend more time with the Head of Lower School. Thank you to Mrs. Fisher for taking time to celebrate Poetry Month with our students.

I have some very exciting news to share with our Preschool families! Not one, not two, but three of our current Preschool Teachers have continued their education and completed degrees this school year. Mrs. Labuen has completed her M.A. in Psychology from Grand Canyon University, Ms. Nuno has completed her B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Brandman University and Mrs. Garza has completed her A.A. in Early Childhood Education from College of the Desert. I am very proud of our faculty members for continuing their education and for providing the most upstanding care and education to our students here at Palm Valley School. Congratulations to all three of these teachers and their achievements.

On that note, Teacher Appreciation Week is next week, May 7-11. Remember to thank your teachers for all that they do!

Thursday, May 17th at 8:30 am, I would like to invite all our Preschool families to the Annual Spring Sing. This is a fun event that includes all Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Lower School students. On this day, we ask all of our families to have their children dropped off no later than 8:00 am in their formal dress uniform. Dress uniform is the red Palm Valley School dresses with basic black leggings and black shoes or the Oxford Palm Valley School dress shirts paired with black pants. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Alice in Wonderland Jr.
There are three performances left this week! This is an excellent introduction for our PS/PK children to see our students act and sing and learn about the arts. For more information and tickets, please go to pvs.org/tickets.
