Weekly Notes from the Preschool Director, 4/18

Dear Preschool Families,

Last week was a great first week back from Spring Break! Our students were excited to come back and start our new monthly theme. April is Artist month! All of our classrooms are able to explore different ways of expressing themselves through the art of all kinds. So far, Jackson Pollock’s splatter art is the most popular within our Preschool/Pre K classes. It is personally one of my favorites to recreate! Along with our Artist Month theme, we are also celebrating Poetry Month. Each classroom is constructing poems. These will be displayed in their individual classrooms. Our teachers have also posted their favorite poems on their classroom wall to be observed and viewed by students and families.

Our next Preschool event is the Dance Recital and Art Show on May 4th at 10:30 am. Between now and then we will have multiple rehearsals during the school day. Flyers have been sent home about rehearsals and details about items that we are requesting for costumes. The Cricket classroom will not be performing in the Dance Recital but will be participating in the Art Show that follows. Please note, we will have dance rehearsals in the gym every Wednesday starting the week of April 23rd. Parents are not obligated to come to these rehearsals, it is more fun if we keep the show a surprise! Please be sure to have your child here by 8:15 am on these dates. If your child is not present for rehearsals, they may not be ready for their performance on May 4th.

Rehearsal dates are as follows: Tuesday 4/24, Wednesday 4/25, Monday 4/30, Wednesday 5/2, and Thursday 5/3.

Alice in Wonderland Jr.
The MS Spring performance this year is Disney's Alice in Wonderland, Jr.! This is an excellent introduction for our PS/PK children to see our students act and sing and learn about the arts. For more information and tickets, please go to pvs.org/tickets.
