Weekly Notes from the Preschool Director, 10/11

Dear Preschool Families,

October is a busy time for all families! There are many invitations to classroom and school events. To stay up to date, remember to check your children's boxes for paperwork and notes from your teacher!

Box Tops for Education: Preschool and PK children will be collecting Box Tops for our school. For a list of participating products, click here. Please send them with your child. We will have a deposit container for them. Thank you for your support.

Mini Camp: Thank you for all of those who participated. It is a pleasure for our staff to accommodate your family's needs. Next mini camp will be November 20 - 22. Sign up here. Our mini camps are open to all students in the Coachella Valley, so tell your friends!

The Great California Shakeout is October 19 at 10:19 am. All children will duck, cover and hold and practice our Earthquake Drill procedures along with our school and with schools all over California.

Safety Day: Please mark your calendars for Friday, October 20th as we will be hosting our “Safety Day” with firefighters, police officers and paramedics. They will be in the parking lot of E-9 Preschool building. Children will have a guided tour with the help of teachers and parents. A reminder of parents in attendance - you must assist only your child, per licensing “volunteer” regulations. As this is a Friday, in the spirit of our Safety Day, we encourage for children to wear RED or BLUE shirts in support of our First Responders.

Coffee with the Preschool Director: Our next meeting will be October 27th at 8:45 am - 9:45 am in the E-10 Pre-Kindergarten building. Please join us if you can.

Halloween: This year Halloween is on a Tuesday. Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students will parade their costumes for Middle and Upper School students during the all-school assembly in the Gym. On the way back to class, the Preschool students will visit Kindergarten and get a treat from Mrs. Fisher!

Room Parents are working with the classroom teachers on plans for a Halloween treat. These will take place after lunch. They will be sending parent information via Shutterfly. Please note, we do encourage students to dress up and have fun, but remember- no blood, no masks, no weapons, no full face makeup/paint. Students must wear athletic shoes for the entire day. Crickets will not participate in assembly or the walk parade. PS and PK children will stop at the Crickets gate and sing to them and wish them a happy holiday.
