Dear Preschool Families,
Can you believe that we are officially in Autumn? The mornings and nights are becoming quite cool, which is perfect for our mornings on our playgrounds. If you have not seen our new sandbox on our PK playground, please take some time to check it out. It is a wonderful addition to our playground and will promote our Outdoor Curriculum on Mondays and Fridays. We will be encouraging our students to experiment with water buckets, measuring cups and so much more to prompt exploration through sensory play.
We have our first all-school Buddy Assembly this Friday, September 27th, 2019 at 8:20 am. Our entire E10 building will be attending with their assigned buddy mentors. Our buddy system is a great way for our younger students to be introduced to different aspects that our school has to offer. For our older students, they are able to mentor our littles ones. Our students will be meeting with their buddies once a month at assemblies as well as participate in special activities on campus with the rest of the school. Parents are more than welcome to come and join us at our all-school assembly!
We have a new staff member this school year! Her name is Ms. Denise Rios. She comes to us with a plethora of knowledge in the Early Childhood Education field, as she is completing courses to obtain her CA State Permit. She is currently our Team Teacher in our Caterpillar Classroom and we are thrilled to have her.
I am very excited to announce our Room Parents for the 2019-2020 school year. These parents will be your go-to resource when it comes to events within our classrooms as well as school wide. Many of these parents have been with us for at least a year or are already very active within our Palm Valley School community. We invite all of our parents to join us the first Tuesday of every month for our Parent Association Meeting in the MPR at 8:15 am- 9:05 am. These meetings are a great resource for our parents to know what is coming next and also how you can help the school with events moving forward.

The Preschool has partnered up with SenseAbilities which is a full-service clinic offering speech and language therapy. They have the expertise to work with developmental disabilities as well as neurological impairments. SenseAbilities targets behavior management concerns within the therapeutic environment plus on a limited bases, through outside consulting. If you are interested in your child's speech and language being screed by SenseAbilities, please as your student’s teacher for the permission slip or you can get them from me directly. Once we find out how many families would like to utilize this resource we will be scheduling the date for them to come out and do their screenings.
Mark your calendars and plan on attending the Effective Financial Planning Night, presented by Dennis Stewart of Educational Funding Solutions on Thursday, October 24th at 5:30 pm in the MPR. This informative meeting will show you how you can develop a plan to meet your children’s college education and your retirement needs. You can never start too early! I will be in attendance, so I hope to see many of you there!
#TogetherWeRise is this year's theme for our school's annual fund drive and it's only with your support that our students, faculty, and programs can continue to rise. We hope that you will consider supporting our school this year with a gift. Whether you can afford to give $25 or $25,000, your gift matters to us and helps us to drive up the participation percentage and reach our goal of $350,000. You can give by clicking here or making a visit to our Business Office. We are proud to be Firebirds and want you to know that it is only together that we continue to rise.
