Weekly Notes from the Head of Preschool, 3/27

Dear Preschool Families,

What a great week it has been! The weather is turning warmer and we are spending more time outside. We even had some children complain about being hot this week, which hasn’t happened in a while. As the weather continues to warm please remember the following:

Change of clothes: Please check your child’s change of clothes to make sure they are season appropriate.
Sunscreen: With more time outside, parents may want to think about sunscreen for their child.  The state of California treats sunscreen like any over-the-counter medication. In order for us to apply it, we need each family to provide the sunscreen and fill out a form giving us permission. Please see your classroom teacher if you would like sunscreen applied to your child during the day.

Insect Month continues here in the Preschool. We have had the pleasure of watching ladybug and caterpillar life cycles in most of our classrooms. It was a major event last week when the insects we cared for were released into the wild. We feel the same way about our Preschoolers who are headed off to Kindergarten next year! We will miss them very much. We wish we could keep them here longer, but we are so proud of all the growth that has occurred this year. Like the joy we experienced observing the butterflies and ladybugs we released, we look forward to witnessing the next stage of their educational journey.

Re-enrollment contracts are due! Please turn in your contract soon, as some of the classrooms in the Preschool will fill up quickly. If you have a special circumstance and/or any particular questions about the contract please feel free to contact me, Mrs. Rice or the business office to discuss.
