Dear Preschool Families,
We are having a great turn out today for Parent/Teacher Conferences. This is a great time for you to ask questions about where your child is developmentally and academically. Our Lead Teachers have worked hard in assessing students in time for this conference and are eager to speak with all of you. If you were unable to schedule a time to meet with your child’s Lead Teacher, please reach out to them directly and you can set up a different date and time that works for you. I also want to remind you that this coming Monday, October 14th, Palm Valley School is closed for a Professional Development Day. We are providing a Mini-Camp that day in case you are in need of childcare on this day.
Our preschool faculty is growing! I am pleased to announce that we have hired a Team Teacher for our Coyote Classroom in the PK Building to join Mrs. Chaffins. Mrs. Ana Tingey has been on our substitute list for the past two years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in an early childhood education as well as experience substituting at our school. We are thrilled to have her officially join our team full time starting next week. Please help me in welcoming her to our PVS community!
Preschool Coffee Hour
I want to invite all of you to come to our first Preschool Coffee Hour next Friday, October 18th at 8:15 am in the E-10 building. We will be discussing upcoming events as well as answering any questions you may have about the Preschool in general. I urge all of our parents to please take time out of your day and join us. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents as well as get to know me as your Head of Preschool. Bring the questions and I will supply the coffee!
October Dinner Out
Our October Dinner out is taking place on Tuesday, October 15th from 11 am to 9 pm at The Slice in Rancho Mirage. The restaurant will donate 20% of the proceeds to our school. Please present this flyer when ordering.
We have our annual Safety Day scheduled this month for October, 21st, 2019 from 9:00 am-10:30 am. Similar to last year, only our E10 Quails, Coyotes, and Jackrabbits will be participating in this event during the school day. We also give a care package to the Fire Department and the Sheriff Department as a thank you for sharing their expertise and careers with our students each year. There is a sign-up sheet for all who would like to contribute donations which are located on the front table in the E10 PK building.
55th Annual Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade
We would like to invite our PVS students and families to participate in the 55th Annual Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade with PVS! The parade and festival will take place on Sunday, October 27th, 2019. We encourage all students and families to participate in the parade by walking with our group. The theme this year is Let the Good Times Roll, 50s and 60 style costumes are encouraged. We will meet at the Bank of America at 10:30 am if you plan on walking in the parade. You can email Abby Sturgeon at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information!
Box Tops for Education
Did you know that Box Tops for Education is now digital? The company is slowly phasing out the actual "cut-outs" from their products. All you need to do is download the app and scan your receipt(s) within 14 days of purchase to earn cash for Palm Valley School. Box Tops has great incentives for families that shop at Costco, Walmart, Stater Brothers, Food for Less, etc... There are many new products on their list. As a user, you don't need to know what products are eligible, when you scan your receipt in the 14-day period, it does all the work for you. Once scanned, it will show what purchased products were eligible for earning cash, how much was earned by the individual user and our total earned for Palm Valley School. Don’t forget to tell the whole family so anyone who shops can earn for Palm Valley School! If you have questions, our Palm Valley School Box Tops for Education Coordinator is Sarah Dunn, email@example.com. (You may still drop off any box tops cutouts that are not expired in the designated Box Top box located in each of our preschool buildings.)
