Weekly Notes from Preschool Director, 5/27

Hello Preschool Families,

The end of the school year has arrived so quickly. I want to thank you all for the support and patience shown this past year. We had successes and some challenges, yet despite all the obstacles, we continued to ensure safety and meet the educational needs of our students and families. An expression of special thanks goes to our tireless Parent’s Association Vice President for the Preschool, Brianna Jordan! She worked in and outside the classrooms, supporting our Division in everything possible. Brianna, your presence and support make our Preschool a much stronger community, supporting us to achieve the school’s goals and ensuring our students are top priority.

I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate all PK students for promoting Kindergarten on Friday, May 29th, 2020! On May 29th, 2020, I will be releasing a PK Promotion Video that will be sent out at exactly 3:00 p.m. I hope everyone takes the time to watch this video and acknowledge and celebrate the hard work that these students have put in during their time in Preschool.

Families, please make appointments to come to campus to collect student belongings on June 1st. We will practice safe distancing protocols and have a no-contact system to do so. You must schedule these appointment times using the links below. Be sure to click on the link of the building of your child’s classroom. During their collection time slot, our PK Students will collect their PreK promotion certificate as well as a gift from myself and our preschool faculty.

E9 Building Pick Up Scheduling for June 1st

E10 Building Pick Up Scheduling for June 1st

The administrative team is working on plans for the August 26th start of school. As you know, plans are contingent on enrollment. To that end, Dr. Sherman and the Board of Trustees have extended the rescission date for contracts to June 15th. They have also added two addendums to the enrollment contract. These were outlined in an email last week, and were put in place to provide an additional measure of assurance as you plan for the 2020-2021 school year.  I will be contacting families this week to check-in and answer any questions you may have going into the new school year. Please know that you can email me, kbeach@pvs.org or Abby Sturgeon, asturgeon@pvs.org at any time to have your questions answered.

Virtual Parent Meeting
Please let Dr. Sherman know if you plan on joining this virtual event (similar to our Parent Coffee Meetings) to discuss relevant school topics and answer any questions. Please feel free to submit a question ahead of time for Dr. Sherman to address on Thursday, May 28 at 9 am.

Check out thlatest issue of the PVS Alumni newsletter. Past newsletters are also archived on the PVS Alumni page. All our students are part of what makes Palm Valley special, including the ones who have left. Memories are more than simply the past -- they're important reminders of what matters in the future.
