Weekly Notes from Preschool Director, 1/29

Dear Preschool Families,

What a beautiful January we are having! The weather is perfect for our Outdoor Classroom exploration on Mondays and Fridays. I want to remind our families that we do encourage our students to experiment and interact with their natural surroundings on the playgrounds. Please ensure your child is coming to school in clothing that is able to get dirty as well as sneakers with socks.

Last week, our PK students were given the opportunity to visit the Kindergarten in Lower School. They read the story, How Are You Peeling?, Foods with Moods with Mrs. Van Vliet. They were also given the opportunity to play on the “big kid” playground as well as experience Music with Mr. Kay in his music room. Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend the Lower School tour that morning. If you would like a private tour, please contact Ms. Abby Sturgeon (asturgeon@pvs.org). If you have questions about the Kindergarten program or curriculum, please contact Mrs. Fisher (ffisher@pvs.org). As always, I am also available to help answer any of your questions.

Join us for the PVS Dinner Out at California Pizza Kitchen on El Paseo TODAYWednesday, January 29th. Dine all day, from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm at California Pizza Kitchen. 20% of dine-in, takeout, catering and beverage purchases benefit PVS. Please present this flyer.

Thank you to all our parents/guardians who continue to come and meet each finalist candidate for our Head of School search. The same forums and times will take place this week. This Friday, January 31st, you will be able to meet the fourth and final candidate!  The Parent Open Forum will be held in the MPR at 8:35 am-9:45 am and a second forum will be later that evening from 5:15 pm-6:15 pm at the same location. I hope to see you there!

Secret Gala Tickets and Auction
The Secret Garden Gala is fast approaching! Special awards, great items for auction, entertainment, and a whimsical garden theme are only a few of the many reasons to attend. Also, even if you’re unable to attend, check out the online fundraising auction with many unique items for our Palm Valley community.  Click here to purchase tickets and bid!

February Break 2/18-2/21
This is a reminder that we are CLOSED, February 17th.  We will be offering a Mini-Camp using our Eventbrite Link for sign-ups from February 18-21. We have a fun week planned for our students who are in attendance! Please register your child using the link as soon as possible so I can prepare adequate staffing for that week.
