Weekly Notes from the Preschool Director, 3/28

Dear Preschool Families,

This week our caterpillars came out of their chrysalis and we released them into our gardens. As we come to the end of the school year, it reminds me of our Pre-K students being released into Kindergarten. I am proud of our Pre-K students and how much they have grown. I know they will spread their wings and fly to Kindergarten with smiles on their faces.

Our next PVS Dinner Out Event will take place at Blaze Pizza in Palm Desert TOMORROWMarch 29th from 5 PM - 8 PM. Show this flyer and 20% of your purchase will benefit PVS!

Our annual Egg Hunt is this Friday, March 30th! As a reminder, please do not insert food items into the eggs. You may fill these eggs with stickers and small toys. We have a lot of food allergies in our Preschool Program and I want to keep all students safe by eliminating shared food from home. Also, goody bags are not allowed to be handed out to students on this date. Preschool/Pre-K teachers will be reminding parents the day of if such items are brought in.

Please remember that re-enrollment contracts and deposits are due by April 1st. If you need another copy of your child's re-enrollment contract, contact the Business Office and we will be happy to print one. Any student who does not have a re-enrollment contract submitted by the deadline will be required to reapply to the school which includes completing a new application, application fee ($125), and new family fee ($1,000). If you have any questions or concerns please call or email Jodi Wiseley at 760-328-0861 or jwiseley@pvs.org.

Purchase your yearbooks by April 16th online at ybpay.lifetouch.com - ID code is 12453418. All yearbook ads (copy, and photos) must be submitted to sfarley@pvs.org no later April 1st.

Photos and or ads must be in JPEG format with a resolution of at least 4 megapixels. Ad sizes and specifications are as follows:

  • 1/4 Page-   $50     3.5 inches by 4 inches
  • 1/2 Page-   $90     4 inches by 7 inches
  • Full Page-  $150   7 inches by 9.5 inches

As a reminder, when you are not present in the vehicle, it is illegal to leave a child up to 6 years old unattended, UNLESS they are supervised by someone of at least 12 years of age. I understand leaving children in the car while you run into the buildings to get your other child is convenient but it is against the law.

Spring Break is nearly upon us! Next week, the school will be closed! If you need childcare you can sign up for Mini-Camp from April 3rd-6thPlease register your children as soon as possible so we can staff accordingly, click here. I hope everyone enjoys their Spring Break! I cannot wait to hear from our students all that they did while they were gone.

The Middle School Spring performance this year is Disney's Alice in Wonderland, Jr.! This is an excellent introduction for our PS/PK children to see our students act and sing and learn about the arts. For more information and tickets, please go to pvs.org/tickets.
