Message from Head of Preschool, 8/2

Dear Preschool Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Head of Preschool. I am excited to join this vibrant community of young learners, and I look forward to connecting with each of you personally. I have spent most my life in New York City where I had the opportunity to attend and work in various progressive preschool programs. For the past four years I had the pleasure of running the Early Learning Center at an independent school in Toledo, Ohio. My family and I are very excited to be living in the Coachella Valley and joining the wonderful community at Palm Valley School. My wife, Shannon, will also be joining the administration as the new Director of Enrollment Management. Our two daughters, Penelope (5) and Juniper (1), will be students in Kindergarten and Crickets. We are thrilled to be making our home here and are looking forward to an incredible school year.

I have spent my career working in early childhood programs because I believe in the power of creating a solid foundation at the beginning of a child’s school career. Child-centered learning allows each student to experience school in a way that is relevant to their daily life and ultimately draws them into a deeper understanding of the world around them. I am excited to be part of your child’s educational journey and I look forward to partnering with you to build the solid foundation that they will need throughout their academic career at Palm Valley.

The Palm Valley Preschool is a place where children can feel safe and have the confidence to share their own ideas and experiences. It is also a resource for you, the families of our youngest students, to come and ask questions, share ideas and learn more about the process of your child’s education. It is through this collaboration and strong home-to-school connection that we will ultimately provide the best education for the children.

I also want to take this opportunity to inform you of a change to our school uniform policy. The goal is to make sure that our students have every opportunity to participate in projects and be actively engaged in their learning. I am confident that our new uniform policy will reflect these goals.

Please see below:
