Dear Preschool Families,
We are off to a great start for the 2020-2021 school year. These first several weeks of school, our faculty are focusing on the theme, “All About Me”. This September our students have been learning about themselves. This includes who they are, who are the members of their families, their emotions and actions, and how that can affect others. This is a great time to talk to your children about how they see the world they live in. Some of our students looked in the mirror and drew self-portraits and told us what they saw, and some of our students created representations of their family using classroom crafts.
As many of you are aware, with recent fires happening in Southern California, we are experiencing smoke in the Coachella Valley which affects our air quality. Currently, we use AirNow.gov to ensure the most accurate account of air quality. If the AQI (Air Quality Index) reports over 100, we will not be going outside as a Preschool. We will continuously monitor the air quality throughout the year. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
As you may have noticed, last week our teachers have been updating weekly photos and Friday Newsletters on ClassDojo. If you are having trouble signing in and utilizing ClassDojo, please reach out to myself or your child’s teacher.
In an effort to keep our students, families, and faculty as safe as possible. We ask that you keep your child home if they are sick. A student may not come to school or stay at school if they have a fever of 100.4 or higher, trouble breathing, and or a consistent cough. Any student that displays these symptoms will be isolated and sent home immediately. It is our policy that they do not return to our campus until they no longer have any of those symptoms for 72 hours free of any medication.
To limit risk to our families during drop off and pick up procedures, we encourage that only 1 family member come into our Health Screening areas. A family will not be permitted to pick up or drop off within our Preschool unless they have a face covering.
