Eblast from the Preschool Director, 1/24

Preschool Families,

What a wonderful few weeks we have had back at school. Our students have been exploring the new curriculum theme of Healthy Bodies. We are talking and learning about their minds, bodies, and nutrition. Encouraging body learning is important because it helps children develop an appreciation for their body and a confidence in themselves which motivates them to reach new heights

The upcoming event that our students are preparing for is the 100th Day of School! Each classroom has been tracking the days of school since the first day in a variety of ways. One classroom uses handprints to symbolize each day of school another is using a sticker chart. This year, we have decided to celebrate the day by dressing up as 100-year-olds! Personally, I am extremely excited to dress up and celebrate our 100th day of school with our students.

George P. Cheng, MD Children’s Vision Screening Program
Thank you to everyone who chose to participate in the free Vision Screening this past Friday. We are hopeful that the results can help your family on whether your child should see an optometrist or not at this time. If other opportunities for free screenings come up, we will notify you.

ClassDojo
I have been continuously updating ClassDojo with events that are coming up within our Preschool and PVS. Please know that as soon as I get information on each event, I will post them. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly.

Family Field Trip- Day at the Zoo
The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens welcomes local students and families to a wildly good time at the zoo. Bring the classroom to life with a visit to The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. Spend the day with your family exploring all that is Wonderfully Wild in your own backyard. If you plan to attend, please ask Ms. Beach for a voucher. Students (PS-12 grade) $8.00 Parents/Guardians/Chaperones: $12.00 (max 2 adults/visit)

Preschool Summer Camps (limited spots available)
We want to provide a Summer camp series to our preschool families as a small extension of our school year. We will have low ratios and minimum space available each week. Our camp will be STEAM-themed which embodies science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics activities. STEAM helps incorporate multiple disciplines at the same time and promotes learning experiences that allow children to explore, question, research, discover, and exercise innovative building skills.

June 7th- 11th: Science
June 14th-18th: Technology & Engineering
June 21st- 25th: Art & Math

Our camp will be held in our E9 Preschool building Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-4:00 pm. We will not be providing AM/PM snacks as well as lunch. To register for our Summer Camp, please click on this link.

Annual Fund
We kindly ask you to consider donating to our Annual Fund. This year, we have a generous donor who has pledged matching funds! That means, every dollar means TWO for our school. This is a difficult time financially for everyone, and every dollar you give makes a difference. The grant deadline has been extended to January 31st, 2021!
