The New Year is the perfect occasion to appreciate all the good things that the past year has given us and all the good things that are yet to come. In the past 365 days, we have experienced beautiful moments in spite of very hard times in 2020, and they wouldn’t have been quite the same without all of our families and students here at Palm Valley School. I wish you all the best in 2021!
Our students celebrated the new year in their classes this past Monday as they started back at school after a much needed and appreciated Winter Break. Some classes talked about their new year wishes, some celebrated by making noisemakers and having a dance party and others purely enjoyed their time back with their classmates.
I want to thank all the families who participated in our Meet and Greet with Santa. We raised $275 for Loma Linda Children’s Hospital in Indio and raised $490 for our Preschool Division. We are looking into doing a Meet and Greet in the Spring with a bunny!
Due to social distancing and cohorting requirements, we will not be offering a mini-camp during the mid-winter break on February 16th - 19th.
As a further safety measure, we will no longer be allowing invitations for parties to be handed out at school. You can access the school directory to obtain emails and addresses of families who have allowed us to publish this information. Go to our website, HERE (www.pvs.org). Click on the MyBackpack option at the top of the page. At the next prompt, type in the username: parentdirectory The password is: PVSfamilies1920
George P. Cheng, MD Children’s Vision Screening Program
Under the auspices of Loma Linda University Eye Institute along with Lions KidsSight, US, we are able to give free vision screening on campus. The vision screening will provide a digital reading of your child’s eyes. No physical contact will be made and results will be provided to the school to give to parents/guardians. All students who are 6 months to 6 years of age are eligible to participate in this screening program. Please ensure you fill out the consent form as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact me directly.
We kindly ask you to consider donating to our Annual Fund. This year, we have a generous donor who has pledged matching funds! That means, every dollar means TWO for our school. This is a difficult time financially for everyone, and every dollar you give makes a difference. This matching funds grant ends on January 15th!
