Dear Middle School Families,
Summer is coming and there are many reasons for you to consider a summer program for your middle school child. Many organized summer activities offer students the opportunity for social growth, time for exploration and discovering a passion and even a chance at academic advancement. While it may be early for 6th and 7th grade parents to start thinking about specific university academic programs, for 8th graders and their parents, the time has come to consider options that will help build a solid C.V. for their rising 9th grader.
Choosing the right program can be tricky and it is important for families to do their research. There are many pay-for-play programs that can seem enticing, especially when they reach out to ”nominate” your student and offer a challenging experience with well-known academics and celebrities. Often, these programs are sponsored by for-profit organizations that can charge extravagantly for these experiences. There are so many enriching choices available today for your student, and many of them do not have to cost a fortune.
