Weekly Notes from the Head of Middle School, 4/29

Dear Middle School Families,

It is hard to believe this is the last week of April and there remains only 5 more weeks to the end of the academic year. This is usually a tough time of year for students to remain focused under normal circumstances, but this year, in particular, it will be challenging keeping them motivated to complete tasks and meet deadlines. Encourage your student to connect with their teachers for the extra help or support they may need to finish the year strong! We all want to see them succeed.

#TOGETHERWEGIVE
We are very close to meeting our goal for this matching grant!
Please consider a gift today to support PVS students, faculty, and programs that mean so much. With the loss of three Spring fundraising events, your gift will ensure that our school can continue to thrive in this time of challenge.  The Richard Brooke Foundation, who are already major donors at the PVS, generously offered us an opportunity to match any donations received until May 1, 2020 - up to $50,000!!
We recognize this is a difficult time to ask for additional donations, but every dollar counts, every gift makes an impact, and we want to DOUBLE your generosity with this matching grant. Even if that means turning in your contract and deposit, or taking care of the majority of your tuition in May or June.
A big thanks to the Richard Brooke Foundation and those families and community members who have already donated to the school. It is your support in this time of need that will fuel us into a successful next school year. #TogetherWeGive

Re Enrollment Contracts
We are working hard on planning for next year and we need to know how many students are returning so that we can make the appropriate adjustments. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me or Abby Sturgeon at asturgeon@pvs.org. Your enrollment contract can be returned electronically or by mail. Thank you!

Support PVS
During COVID-19, families can choose to support PVS through programs like Box Tops or Amazon Smile. These days, Box Tops for Education is online and digital. Families can download the Box Tops app and scan their receipt(s) within 14 days of purchase to earn cash (typically 10 cents per Box Top item, although additional incentives are offered) for PVS. Users don't need to know what products are eligible, when the receipt is scanned, the app will show the box tops earned at that time and credit PVS. If you have questions, our Palm Valley School Box Tops for Education Coordinator is Sarah Dunn, dienys@hotmail.com.

Similar to Box Tops, Amazon Smile is a program that can help support PVS. With families purchasing from Amazon, especially during the pandemic, remembering to conduct their purchases through smile.amazon.com and indicating PVS, a small percent (0.5%) of that purchase will benefit our school. These are small ways to help earn money for our learning community, even during distance learning, and every dollar counts! Thank you for your support.
