Dear Middle School Families,
Now that I have personally experienced teaching my French classes online and have had the privilege of watching my colleagues teach theirs, I want to tell you how rewarding it has been to be able to continue preserving our educational goals. Our teachers have had to stretch their creativity and technology skills like never before and they are rising to the challenge. I am also very encouraged by how well the students are embracing this new educational format. They are enthusiastic and hard-working, as always.
Another remarkable member of our Palm Valley family is embracing her new world. Our Director of Marketing and Admissions, Ms. Abby Sturgeon has found a very creative way to continue enrollment efforts during this unique time. If your student would like to help show the community how well we have done transitioning to Distance Learning, please get their video to Ms. Sturgeon by Thursday.
Video Project for Social Media
If you would like to help promote the school by sharing your experience with #PVSDistanceLearning thus far, please send a short selfie video clip (up to 15 seconds) to our Director of Admissions and Marketing, Abby Sturgeon at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that Abby will use these video clips to share on social media and show off how skilled our student body and teaching staff is by moving to virtual learning - we are still one of the only local schools offering this program! Please include the following in your video clips:
- Your Name
- Your Grade
- Favorite Part of PVS Distance Learning (ex. the creative projects the teachers are providing, your favorite virtual class/subject, how easily your teachers/classmates have transitioned to online learning, collaborating with your classmates, etc.)
If you'd like to participate, please send Ms. Sturgeon the short video clip via email by Thursday, March 26 at 3:00pm.
Re Enrollment Contracts
Please try to get these in (electronically or by mail, of course) as soon as possible. We are working hard on planning for next year and we need to know how many students are returning so that we can make the appropriate adjustments. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Upper School Play
We have selected some tentative dates for rescheduling the Upper School performances. Our students and their directors have worked incredibly hard on what will be the unforgettable swan song of our longtime Drama teacher, Mr. Ken Sarkis. The world premiere of Firebird will be moved to Friday, May 15, Sunday, May 17 is Matinee, Thursday, May 21, Friday, May 22, Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24 is Matinee. We will be refunding all tickets at this time to allow all patrons to re-buy whatever of those nights may work for them and their families.
