Weekly Notes from the Head of Middle School, 11/29

Dear Middle School Families,

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed a restful week off. From speaking to the students it sounded like a very eventful time with activities ranging from high-quality family time, beach holidays, and even a few trips out of town. We aim to pick up right where we left off and the students are going to continue to push forward into their 2nd quarter.

I want to remind all of our families that there has been a change to our Honor Roll this year. The requirements for Honor Roll have changed to reflect a more rigorous level of achievement. Honor Roll is now earned with a 3.5 - 3.74 GPA and High Honor Roll with a 3.75 GPA or above. We will be recognizing those students who achieved Honor Roll and High Honor Roll during a FridayAssembly at the end of the semester. Along with the Honor Roll, there will be a few other notable accolades that will be given to a handful of our MS students for positive behaviors, attitudes, and effort that have been observed throughout the year. The names of these students will also be published in the Phoenix after the assembly in February. It will be a very exciting event and I look forward to welcoming you.

Gala Invitations

Did you receive your Gala invitation? Your student was sent home with a special invitation, just for you.  If you haven’t seen it yet, please ask your student!

7th Grade Service Learning Trip - FIND Food Bank
Our 7th Graders will be the first to kick off one of our yearly service learning activities. Tomorrow from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, they will be volunteering at FIND Food Bank. As part of this wonderful opportunity, students will take a tour of the facility, help other volunteers pack, separate and prepare items for delivery, and learn about all the good they bring to so many families across the valley. I would like to thank 7th Grade families in advance for your willingness to participate alongside the students and help us transport our students to their location and back.
