Weekly Notes from the Head of Middle School, 10/10

Dear Middle School Families,

Thank you for participating in our Student Led Conferences. I love this time with my students and their families because it is an excellent opportunity for students to show and validate their academic responsibility. Responsibility is one of the most admirable traits a person can possess and when students take an active role in their learning, they become accountable for their academic success. This accountability is key in having them make choices and take actions that will lead them to achieve their goals. I know that some students struggle with filling in their Student Led Conference scripts, but having them take the lead at conferences is an active way of teaching them to be academically responsible and listening to them own their educational experience is one of the most rewarding elements of being a teacher.
