Weekly Notes from the Head of Middle School, 1/23

Dear Middle School Families,

We are halfway through the academic year and Friday marks the last day of the first semester, yet the academic and social struggles of being a middle schooler persist. It takes resilience to get through these times, and thankfully, resilience is a skill that can be learned. Resilience teaches us to overcome obstacles, breakdown barriers, reduce stress, and manage uncertainty. There are a lot of lessons to be learned from building up one’s resilience. Here is some great advice from the American Psychological Association about how you can help your student better manage his/her inevitable Middle School stress.
