Dear Middle School Families
Next week, your student will be taking their standardized test, the CTP-V developed by ERB testing. You play an essential part in helping your student give their best performance on these assessments. We have been busy preparing and reinforcing the skills necessary for students to demonstrate their learning. Even though this assessment is a snapshot, one single perspective, it is important that our students have the opportunity to do their best. We don’t want to cause anxiety; instead, we want our students to be as prepared as possible.
There are many ways in which you can help your student put his/her best foot forward. The evening before the test, make sure your student fully charges their Chromebook, make sure your student goes to bed on time, keep your routine as normal as possible, be positive and confident in the fact that you know your student will do their best and plan ahead to avoid conflicts. The mornings of the testing, make sure your student has their charged Chromebook with them, arrives at school on time and has eaten a nutritious breakfast. Pack a few healthy snacks and remain positive and encouraging. Remember, this does not define who they are, it is an opportunity to demonstrate what they know and a tool to help us all assess how your student does on standardized tests. Thank you for your support in your student’s education!
