"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about." - Meg Wheatley
Dear Palm Valley Families,
Welcome to October! There is much to celebrate this week and month. Our 8th graders, led by Mrs. Mulé and Drew Killeen, just returned from several days of "roughing it" in the outdoors along the Colorado River and the beautiful Lake Mead national park. I am so grateful for Faculty who volunteer to take students on these meaningful experiences where they can get in touch with nature and the world around them, build community with one another, and take time to reflect on the larger world. Students often return from these kinds of trips with a changed perspective on their place in the world, and I know that this one will be no different. A special thanks to Mrs. Mulé and Mr. Killeen for giving their time to chaperone students on this opportunity!
Hopefully, you have all had the chance to add the "Save the Date(s)" for our annual fundraiser events to your calendars. These events provide us with a great opportunity to build community and support our school at the same time. As such, we are forming our Gala committee for this year's Annual Gala planning. Our event is set to take place on February 8th at the Westin Mission Hills Hotel in Rancho Mirage. If you are interested in being part of the planning and execution of this year's formal fundraising event, please reach out to Abby Sturgeon at email@example.com to volunteer. While we host meetings weekly, we welcome anyone who can make the majority of the meetings and is willing to help with a variety of tasks. It's a great way to be involved in this spectacular event. This year's theme, Secret Garden, will be beautiful, but we need your help! Please consider volunteering today!
Lastly, the Annual Fund is well underway! Thank you to those of you who have given your gift this year, we are incredibly grateful. You are truly helping us to provide a fulsome education for students at Palm Valley School. There are many aspects of operating a school that tuition does not cover. We are grateful for the generous families who contribute each year to ensure that our students, faculty, and important programs have the support that they need to thrive. If you have not given yet, please consider doing so today. You can make a pledge online and pay over the year, give a one time gift at a specified amount, give in honor or memory of a loved one or favorite faculty member, and many other options. Visit our giving page today to learn more of make you pledge/donation! Thank you for considering. Below is our current list of generous donors. Let's break last year's record of 60% participation from families in our community! We can do it!
