Eblast from the Head of Middle School, 3/28

Dear Middle School Families,

Happy Spring everyone! One more week and then we are off for Spring Break (5 April - 9 April.) Friday, 2 April is a half day with dismissal for middle and upper school students at 11:50 amThere will be no lunch or after-care.

With the arrival of spring, we have noticed some students have had a growth spurt. Because of the extra stress of the pandemic, we have been more lenient this year with the uniform policy. While you are still able to buy uniforms through Norman’s, we are being flexible about what students are wearing for bottoms. As long as they are in compliance with the colour and style of Norman’s pants and skirts, you are able to send your student to school with bottoms purchased from another store.

Enrollment Contracts
Please return your signed contract and deposit by 15 April. This year, we have an unusually    high interest in admission. Classes are filling up quickly! Please reach out to me or Abby  Sturgeon, Director of Admissions and Marketing, if you have any questions: asturgeon@pvs.org.
MS Soccer
Coach Macias is hoping to field a soccer team in April. If your student is interested in playing soccer this year, please have them sign up at the middle school front desk as soon as possible. The first game could happen as early as 16 April, with the possibility of having a total of 6 games. Coach is hoping to get enough players to compete this year. No experience required, just come out and have fun!

PVS Family Drive-In Movie Night
Our wonderful Parent Association is hosting a movie night on Saturday, 17 April: The venue  opens at 6:30 pm and the movie starts at 7:30 pm. You will be getting an email with more  detailed information. A food truck has been arranged to be on site, (a different vendor from last  time.) I hope to see you there!

ERB Testing
Some have asked about standardized testing. We usually administer the CTP V and WrAP Writing Assessment in May. Due to the pandemic, we will not be administering the tests this year. Testing is what we do FOR students, not what we do TO students. It is designed to inform us and parents in a purposeful way. We look forward to administering the test in the upcoming 2021-2022 school year.
