Eblast from the Head of Middle School, 10/11

Dear Middle School Families,

We are very excited to have students back on campus tomorrow and while we understand that there may be some angst and nervousness over all the changes, we want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to help students transition to either their physical return to campus or their transition to our Hyflex program. Transitions have been a reality for all of us these past eight months and they have been testing our patience, resolve and sanity like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. As we enter into this next phase, know that our teachers are going to be very flexible and accommodating with your student. This is yet another experience we will face and adapt to together. Thank you for trusting us with your child. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have.

Sunline Bus Art Competition
Congratulations to middle school students, Myles Rotman and Lily Jones, for winning this wonderful art competition. This year’s theme centered on how Sunline buses are important for the Coachella Valley and the environment. Lily’s art is currently featured on the side of one of Sunline’s busses and Myles’ piece will be displayed at one of their bus stops.

New Bell Schedule
Now that we have reopened campus, we are on a new bell schedule. The link to view that is here.

Afternoon Activities
The afternoon activities we have been holding from 4pm - 6pm are discontinued now that students are back on campus. Thank you to everyone who participated, I know Dr. Sherman and Mr. Williams had a lot of fun with the kids!

Snack Shop
The Snack Shop will open on Monday, October 12. They will be serving food that is either in individual containers or individually wrapped. Everything will cost from $1.00 - $3.00 and only cash will be accepted.

The Great California ShakeOut
Thursday, October 15, the entire school will participate in this earthquake drill. For more information please visit their website.

For those participating in our Hyflex program, please contact Sarai, sjimenez@pvs.org, to schedule a time during that day to come in and have your child’s picture taken.

Parent Association Fall Fundraiser
Make sure to keep your eye out for the Fall Wreath Fundraiser packets that are coming your way.  The fundraiser begins this month and proceeds will go to supporting Palm Valley students.  Thank you in advance for your participation.
