Weekly Notes from the Head of Lower School, 9/4

Dear Families,

The first week of school is over. Students and faculty are getting into a regular routine, and you can feel the excitement and positive energy throughout the Lower School! What a great feeling it is to greet students in the morning and hear about how much they enjoy their classes.

This weekly e-blast will be sent every Wednesday to Lower School Families. It is intended to keep everyone informed of events and items specific to the Lower School. In addition, I am available to speak with you at any time. Please reach out via email: ffisher@pvs.org, or by phone, to Ms. Erika Kaban at (760) 328-0861 to make an appointment.

Back to School Night: I look forward to seeing all families tomorrow evening at 6:00 pm. This is a great time to meet both classroom and specialist Teachers. Please note that childcare is not available. We would like to have all parents and guardians present for this important informational evening, so please make arrangements for your children so that you may attend. I’d like to share an article that has some great information to help you get the most out of Back to School Night: link

Attention new families: Plan on joining Mrs. Rice on Monday, September 23rd at 8:15 in the MPR for a New Families’ Coffee.

Did you know that Box Tops for Education is now digital? The company is slowly phasing out the actual "cut-outs" from their products. All you need to do is download the app and scan your receipt(s) within 14 days of purchase to earn cash for Palm Valley School. Box Tops has great incentives for families that shop at Costco, Walmart, Stater Brothers, Food for Less, etc... There are many new products on their list. As a user, you don't need to know what products are eligible, when you scan your receipt in the 14-day period, it does all the work for you. Once scanned it will show what purchased products were eligible for earning cash, how much was earned by the individual user and our total earned for Palm Valley School. Don’t forget to tell the whole family so anyone who shops can earn for Palm Valley School! If you have questions, our Palm Valley School Box Tops for Education Coordinator is Sarah Dunn, dienys@hotmail.com.
(You may still drop off any box tops cutouts that are not expired to the box located in the Lower School Office.)
