Today is the second student-led conference of the year. There are many benefits to these types of conferences. Students are asked to reflect on their learning and set goals. This process causes them to accept personal responsibility for their academic performance and celebrate their efforts and achievements. From Kindergarten through Fifth grade, students have worked hard on their presentations. I am very proud of them!
Student safety is most important on our campus. This is the reason we ask all adults, families, visitors, and volunteers to sign in and out of the office and we ask that you alert us when someone other than those listed on the family information sheet will be picking your student up from school.
Speaking of safety, students in Kindergarten through Second grade will attend a special Rocket Rules assembly on Thursday, March 8th at 10:15 am in the MPR. Rocket Rules is a safety preparedness education program that teaches young children how to stay safe if there is a fire, earthquake, or other emergency. The program is recognized and supported at the state and national level and presented in schools, after-school programs, and camps across the nation. If you’d like more information, you can visit their website: rocketrules.org.
Monday, March 12th is a Professional Development Day. There is no school this day, but Mrs. McGrew and her staff have a great mini-camp planned. Sign up for the March 12th mini-camp here.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day is Friday, March 16th. A light breakfast will be offered in the area outside of the Administrative Offices, beginning at 7:30 am, followed by a performance in the gym at 8:30 am. After the program, we invite your guests to visit the students' classrooms. If you plan on taking your student to the bookfair or off campus directly from the gym, you must sign them out with the teacher in the gym before doing so. This is for the safety and security of all students. It is a minimum day and students are dismissed at noon. For your convenience, After-Care will be offered until 5:30 pm.
Our annual book fair is Tuesday - Friday, March 13th - 16th in the MPR. The hours will be 7:30 am - 8:15 am and 2:45 pm - 3:30 pm Tuesday through Thursday, and Friday before and after the Grandparents and Special Friends Day performance. This event is a great way to support our teachers and school.
The Annual Lower School Talent Show is on Thursday, March 29th at 6:00 pm in the gym. Teachers sent permission slips home this week. Students must attend auditions on Monday, March 26th and both rehearsals on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 27th and 28th. These will be in the gym from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm. Please notify the office if you'd like additional information.
As a reminder, contracts and deposits are due as soon as possible to reserve space for next year. We have seen an increase in applicants and tours, and anticipate waiting lists in several grades for the fall. Please reach out to me via phone or email at (760) 328-0861 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Session 4 of our Hot Lunch Orders are due tomorrow, March 8th. Click here to view and print the form. Please return your forms to Ms. Kaban at the LS front desk.
Have a wonderful week!
