Weekly Notes from the Head of Lower School, 3/21

"Knowing that we can be loved exactly as we are gives us all the best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people." -Fred Rogers

Dear Families,

Mr. Rogers is one of my heroes. He spent nearly forty years teaching kindness to children on TV. His simple messages must have worked. After that news broadcast, an individual who had stolen Mr. Rogers' car returned it with a note that said, "If we'd known it was yours, we would never have taken it." One of the best lessons we can teach our students is to have kindness and compassion. Through morning meetings, teachable moments, and by example, our faculty tries to teach and model kindness to students daily.

Thanks to everyone who supported the annual Scholastic Book Fair last week. We could not have held this event without the wonderful support of our volunteers. Palm Valley is so fortunate to have families that are always at the ready to support our needs whether it is in the classroom, helping organize events, or giving time in other ways, you are much appreciated!
