"He that loves reading has everything within his reach." -William Goodwin
Welcome Back! Friday, March 2nd is one of my favorite days of the school year: Read Across America! The first celebration was on March 2nd, 1998. The date was chosen to commemorate Dr. Seuss's birthday, and it is the largest celebration of reading in the country. At Palm Valley, students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade are encouraged to dress as a favorite Dr. Seuss character, and teachers encourage their students to read, read, read. This year, there will be guest readers who visit every class and will be sharing a favorite book with students. I hope you get a moment to stop and savor a good book, too.
Please be aware of the student pick up procedures at the end of the day.
- Pull up along the curb as directed by Palm Valley staff, your student will be called and escorted to the car. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended or drive around stopped vehicles to get to the front of the line.
- Please remain in your car. If your children have backpacks or other items, PVS staff will help them load it into your vehicle. This will expedite the pickup process and help alleviate long pickup lines.
- If you need an additional placard to place on your dashboard, please contact Ms. Erika Kaban by phone (760) 328-0861, or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have developed this system to ensure the safety of all students. Your cooperation is appreciated.
