not on your misfortunes of which all men have some." Charles Dickens
This Thanksgiving was certainly a unique one in the Fisher house, hopefully, the last of its kind. One thing that didn’t change was our post-meal tradition when Greg and I list the people, events, and circumstances in our lives for which we are grateful. There are so many! Among them is my Palm Valley School Community. Thanks to all of you for sharing your children, supporting our teachers, and supporting our school. I hope you all had a restful break.
As is tradition, the students will be giving back to the community this holiday season by writing cards and letters to the elderly. I will be dropping them off at the Mizell Senior Center in Palm Springs, who will distribute them to their over 350 Meals on Wheels clients. We are also collecting stuffed animals and books, especially in Spanish, for the Riverside County Foster Kids program. You can drop off donations outside the Lower School office from November 30th to December 11th.
Yearbooks are on sale! Please order them directly from the website using this link: https://www.balfour.com/
We have several sweaters, sweatshirts, and jackets in our lost and found. If your student is missing an item, you can see Jeanne in the LS Office. Please label all items with your child’s name so we can return them when they are left behind.
Spirit Week is coming December 14th - 18th. Daily themes have not yet been announced. However, Wednesday, December 16th is Ugly Sweater Day, and Friday, December 18th is Pajama Day. The 18th is a minimum day. Kindergarten, First, and Second graders are dismissed at 12:00 and Third, Fourth, and Fifth graders are out at 12:20. Because of circumstances, classroom celebrations will be minimal. Your teacher will keep you informed of details.
