I've always loved the first day of school better than the last day of school. Firsts are best because they are beginnings
August 22, 2021
The best part of my day is when I greet the students in the mornings. The enthusiasm and excitement to start the day are contagious! I will be sending these eblasts to our Lower School families every other week to keep you informed about things specific to our division.
I look forward to seeing all families at Back to School Night on Thursday, September 2nd, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. The evening will begin in the Lower School Amphitheater with some announcements and introductions from Dr. Sherman and me. You will have an opportunity to meet the Specialist Teachers, Parent Association Vice Presidents, and Room Parents. Parents and Guardians will then be directed to the classrooms for teacher presentations. Please note that childcare will not be available this year. We would like to have all parents and guardians present for this important informational evening, so please make arrangements for your children so that you may attend.
We have changed the afternoon pick-up procedure to provide a safer, more efficient experience for all.
Beginning tomorrow -
There will be two pick-up locations:
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade will be in the same location, but students will be loaded into their vehicles on the west side of the crosswalk.
Third - Fifth Graders will be dismissed in the parking area adjacent to the 3-5 playground through the gate.
Both locations will be marked, and there will be school staff directing traffic.
Please park in a designated spot and walk to the appropriate area if you choose to do so.
Please continue to display the placard we provide to help expedite the process.
Our Spirit Store is open every Thursday from 7:30 am to 9:00 am, for your convenience. If Thursday mornings do not work for you, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, and the coordinator will try and accommodate you.
Pizza and Hot Lunch information went home Friday. Please return the order forms to the Lower School Office by Wednesday, August 25th. Note that this year, all pizza orders must be pre-paid- we will not accept same-day orders. If you need additional copies, please contact us. The program begins the week of September 7th.
School photos will be taken on Wednesday, September 8th. This is a formal dress uniform day. The dress code is in the Handbook for Students and Families.
One of the things that make Palm Valley School unique is our Buddy Program. Every grade level is paired with a Buddy Class from a different division. Buddies get together each month for a special event or activity. The first one will be this Tuesday, where the buddies will meet and greet each other. Be sure and ask your student about their buddy.
