"Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success." -Edward Everett Hale
Dear Palm Valley Families,
Welcome back! This first week back to school is always an exciting week for all of us. Families, you are bringing your children back to school after a long summer - some for the first time at Palm Valley School. Teachers and Administrators have been preparing and growing excited about our campus being filled with the buzz of students once again. Students, you are back in classes with teachers and friends, old and new, and starting another year of your educational journey. The enthusiasm is palpable! I hope that all of our families were able to join us for the Back to School Breakfast this morning, put together by our incredible group of Parent Association volunteers. The Parent Association is led this year by our President Sally Hawthorne, and we are all grateful for her leadership and the Parent Association's service to our community.
The volunteer efforts of our PA are critical to the success of our school in many ways. All parents and guardians with a child or children enrolled at Palm Valley School are automatically members of the Parent Association. Whether you are a new family or a returning family, I encourage you to consider attending their regular monthly meetings as a great way to get involved and support our school. Your voice, time and effort, and support are needed. The PA meets every month on the first Tuesday at 8:15 am. The first meeting of the year is coming up on Tuesday, September 4th at 8:15 am in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) located in the Middle School/Administration building. I hope that you will consider joining us!
As we embark upon a new school year together, I want to invite each and every family at Palm Valley School to sit down with me for a personal meeting. One of our values is "Trust, Respect, and Partnership." While that means many things to our school community, one of the most important to me is the partnership between the school and your family. It is only through the development of a strong alliance of trust and respect that we can work together to best serve and support your children, their academic endeavors, and their social-emotional development. I'll be reaching out individually to our new families to set up those meetings to talk about your hopes for your child and their education at Palm Valley. I'd love to hear from our returning families as well. Your feedback is very valuable to me, and so is getting to know you better! If you would like to set up a meeting, please send an email to Sarai Jimenez at email@example.com, and she will arrange a time that works for you.
Make it a great week, Firebirds!
