"I am grateful for what I am and what I have; my Thanksgiving is perpetual." - Henry David Thoreau
Dear Palm Valley families,
Welcome back from the break. Thanksgiving might be my favorite, or a close second favorite, holiday of the year. The food, the connections, the warmth, and the gratitude we share are all things that I love and cherish. As a school community, we have so much to be grateful for this year, and I hope that each of our Palm Valley families had a great time with loved ones and delicious food to celebrate and reconnect. I am thankful for each of you and grateful for what you contribute and bring to our community. Thank you!
A reminder that tomorrow (12/3) is #GivingTuesday and we hope that you will consider supporting Palm Valley School with your Annual Fund gift, or if you have already given, with a gift to honor someone special. Every gift given to Palm Valley School via Facebook, our website, in person, via mail, etc. that we receive on #GivingTuesday, gives you a special shout-out opportunity on our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). Regardless of the amount, you will get a post on each social media channel thanking you for your gift, and with that comes an opportunity to give thanks, honor, or recognition for a Faculty or Staff member, Alumni, favorite student, friend, memory - anything you want to give in honor or memory of. We will also credit gifts that come in today or through this evening with a post tomorrow, and Facebook is offering potential matching for all non-profit gifts given through Facebook on #GivingTuesday. Don't miss this opportunity to support Palm Valley School in an important and vital way, while giving thanks and gratitude for something that is meaningful to you and your family. Please join us.
Last, but not least, one of the best perks in being a Head of School is that I occasionally have the great honor of sharing incredible personal news with you from Faculty and Staff. This week, I have the great honor of announcing that Mr. and Mrs. Bernstein welcomed their daughter, Catherine Lizette Bernstein, to the world over the break. She was born on November 29, 2019, at 2:12 am, weighing in at 6.2lbs. What an absolutely gorgeous baby. Mrs. Bernstein let us know that she is doing well and that baby Catherine is healthy, happy, and so sweet. What a spectacular Thanksgiving gift to be grateful for! We are all sending the Bernsteins love and joy for their growing family.
Thanks for all you do, Firebirds!
