Message from the Head of School, 12/14

Dear Palm Valley Families,

Saying goodbye is never easy. This week we have two members of our Palm Valley staff moving on that I need to recognize. Ms. Raquel Hansen is leaving us to spend more time with her family and we will miss her dearly! She has been a ray of sunshine in our Preschool off and on for several years and we wish her the best in her future endeavors. Ms. Jeanne Anguiano has been a staple at the Lower School for about a year, but she is beloved just the same. From giving band-aids to boo-boos and answering tough parent questions, Ms. Anguiano has been there! She is leaving us for another position and we wish her the best. Both of these staff members will be with us through Friday of this week, which is their last day. Please join me in giving them a warm send-off to their new adventures and let them know that they will be missed!

Additional changes that are coming to fill those positions are that Ms. Erika Kaban in the Middle School will be relocating to the Reception Desk in the Lower School! Ms. Kaban is no stranger to the Lower School, having worked there for some time a year or so ago. She is a friendly face for students and families and is very knowledgeable about the school in general. Please welcome her back to the Lower School Administrative Assistant role alongside Mrs. Fisher to help all our Lower School students and families! A new hire, Ms. Sarai Jimenez, will be joining our team over the winter break and will become the new face you see at the Middle School reception desk. Ms. Jimenez comes to us with a wealth of administrative and office management experience and I know she will feel welcome at Palm Valley School right away!

Lastly, we would like to welcome Ms. Tianna Nuno to the Preschool as the new Team Teacher in the Coyote room alongside Mrs. Becky Chaffins. Mrs. Nuno is very excited to join our team, meet our students and families, and work at Palm Valley School. Her first day in the Preschool will be Monday and we couldn't be more thrilled to find someone so warm and welcoming! Let's welcome her to Palm Valley with a traditional Coyote howl!

We are grateful that we will have such wonderful new candidates taking over, so please join me in welcoming both Ms. Jimenez in January and Ms. Nuno on Monday!

Best,
Susan Rice
