Good evening, Palm Valley School Community.
The weather is slowly changing and we are beginning to achieve a cadence to our school year. Riverside County numbers continue to improve and we are hopeful about the possibility of re-opening our middle and upper schools soon. I will be sure to keep you informed of any changes on that front.
Our teachers have always been hardworking, but this school year also requires a professional skillset and flexibility unlike any other. We have appreciated your patience as we have waded into new classroom environments with challenging components that stretch our teachers in unusual and profound ways. However, despite all of the complexities of this school year, I have been so impressed with our teachers, staff, and administration. More is being required of them than ever before – and they are rising to the task with professionalism and positive attitudes!
Tethered to our theme of flexibility this year, our Annual Back To School Nights have a virtual format and a different feel to them. The Preschool and Lower School night was last week followed by our Middle and Upper School Back To School Videos coming this week. This year, our Middle/Upper School Back To School will consist of teacher videos that can be viewed at your leisure. All middle and upper school parents will be sent an email on Friday with links to individual videos from each students’ teachers. I also want you to know that I am scheduling a virtual State of the School Zoom call for Thursday evening, October 1st starting at 6 pm. Look for sign up details to follow next week.
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of two significant changes to our October calendar. Due to schedule conflicts, we are moving our Student-Led Conferences to Friday, October 9th and our October Professional Development Day to Friday, October 16th. Therefore, there will be no school and no mini-camp available on Friday, October 9th. There will be no school, but mini-camp will be available on Friday, October 16th. We are asking you to preregister for the October 16th mini-camp for Preschool and Lower School students below:
