The Smile Behind the Mask!!
Dear Palm Valley Parents and Families,
This will be my final eblast of the school year. As difficult and challenging that this school year has been, it has been rewarding and encouraging as well. As a school community, we demonstrated both resilience and collaboration…. Partnering to maintain our focus on educating your children in a safe and impactful way. I earnestly wish to thank so many of you for your donations, gifts in kind, supportive emails, and wild morning waves! You have helped to make this year truly special. One that will not be quickly forgotten. Though you have not been able to tell…. I have been smiling behind my mask! I feel so fortunate to be a part of such a loving and supportive community! I am also very excited about next year. Not just a ‘return to normal’, but an expansion and enhancement of both academic and extra-curricular opportunities for our Firebird students. We are growing and improving with each passing week. The momentum that we have begun this year will be carried over to an exciting 2021 – 2022 school year!
I am proud of our Academic WorldQuest Team, coached by Andrea Coffey. They recently competed in the National Academic WorldQuest
I am also proud of our League Champion Golf Team! They persevered through a maze of new COVID related requirements to add another championship to our gym banners.
As we complete our school year, we are supporting one more outreach program. Beginning tomorrow, May 24th and running through June 1st, we will be collecting spring/summer children’s clothing, especially for infant – 3 years old, to support children that are at a refugee camp at the US/Mexico border. Receptacles to collect the clothing can be found at divisional offices starting tomorrow. We thank you for any donations that you can make to support those children in need.
As always, our school year will officially end with our High School Commencement Ceremony on June 4th celebrating the Class of 2021. This year’s group of graduates are leaving us with a myriad of college acceptances and selections including some of the finest universities and specialized programs. They carry with them class credits, scholarship money, and an immense skillset that has prepared them well for the next step in their educational journey. We remain proud of their accomplishments and want to congratulate both them and their parents – who supported them along their journey!
I will leave you with my hope that you and your family enjoy a safe and restful summer break. You will hear from me again in mid-July when we send out our summer mailer with pertinent information for the start of our next school year.
Until then, be well… and GO FIREBIRDS!!
