From the Head of School – June 26, 2017

Dear Palm Valley Families,

I want to take a moment to thank those of you who participated in our Parent and Families Feedback Survey for the 2016-17 school year. Overwhelmingly, the feedback was very positive. I am pleased to report that of the 110 responses that we collected from families, 97% stated that they would recommend Palm Valley School to others. Some of the anecdotal reasons listed for this in the responses were: small class sizes, family atmosphere, high-quality teachers, and faculty and staff that know and support their children.

In each Division, we asked about specific programs that were new, underwent changes this year, or that were already on our radar as needing improvement and re-evaluation. While again, most of the responses were positive with a sprinkling of constructive suggestions for improvement, the most significant program that garnered feedback was the hot lunch program that we currently use.

I am pleased to announce that as part of our partnership with Eisenhower Medical, a portion of the grant we received for "Health and Wellness" programs will be used to work with a registered dietician on ways to improve our meals. Our goal is to create healthy choices and better information to share with parents about the nutritional content of our lunches. We are very excited to start this endeavor and look forward to implementing some of those changes right away in the fall.

Thanks again to everyone who gave us such great feedback on the survey. Your suggestions and experiences help us to continue to improve and grow! Have a great summer!
